Two LUMIX GH7 bodies anchor wide and close views. A GH5S can cover a darker position; an original G9 can add a stabilized angle or event stills. We plan framing and recording choices together so the shots can be cut and graded as one piece.
Capture the whole stage, performer close-ups, details and a moving or interview angle. GH7 5.8K 4:3 open-gate recording gives an editor room to make both widescreen and vertical crops from the same shot. Lenses and camera positions follow the room, light and final frame. The GH7s can record edit-friendly ProRes 422 HQ or, in a separate 5.7K mode, internal ProRes RAW HQ for more flexibility in post. V-Log is available for a log grading workflow. Their activated ARRI LogC3 option helps match footage from compatible LogC3 productions. GH5S and G9 offer V-Log L; we use consistent settings and a ColorChecker reference to plan a cohesive grade across angles.
Alongside the GH7’s internal 5.7K ProRes RAW recording, a Ninja V or Ninja V+ provides monitoring and external recording options. A Portkeys monitor lets another person view the shot, while a Zacuto Gratical EVF brings the image to the operator’s eye. We select the camera and recorder combination around the format you need.
Fluid-head tripods, a DJI RS 4 gimbal and Zacuto shoulder rigs support fixed and moving shots. Lens control, ND and diffusion filters, and portable RGB lights help shape the image. Deity TC-1 timecode aligns separately recorded camera and sound tracks. For LED screens and live camera feeds, we plan switching and signal routing with the venue.
PLAN THE OUTPUT
Recorded coverage can become a full-song performance film, an interview, or a band EPK or artist promo. An edited piece can combine wide, close and moving shots with a grade that matches the camera angles. GH7 open-gate footage can support alternate widescreen and vertical framing when that mode is chosen for the shoot.
A live screen feed or livestream also needs switching and a compatible signal path at the venue. Tell us which outputs you need so we can plan camera positions, operators, sound and final files. We can film at your show or location, or help arrange a room at Skip’s Music.
