Model details

The RNT pairs a handcrafted, gold-sputtered true condenser capsule with musical tube character and fully discrete Class-A electronics in both active stages. Its floor box uses the same custom op-amps as Rupert Neve Designs’ flagship 5088 console, bringing that recording-console pedigree to the microphone signal path.

Three switchable gain settings and a wide dynamic range accommodate delicate ambience and loud, close-miked sources. Nine graded polar patterns, from omni through cardioid to figure-eight, let you fine-tune the balance of direct sound and room ambience. Use it for a detailed lead vocal, natural acoustic instruments, piano or a spacious room perspective.

Typical uses: Lead vocals · Piano and strings · Acoustic instruments
