Model details
Start the recording with D.W. Fearn’s distinctive preamp design. The DVA uses the same 6072A tube input circuit as the Hazelrigg VLC and Fearn VT-2, with transformers at both ends and solid-state make-up gain.
Use a DVA for a vocal, acoustic instrument or direct bass, or a pair for stereo recording. Our dedicated line-to-mic attenuation also lets recorded tracks and stereo stems return through these microphone preamps for tube and transformer character. Use the DVA pairs on their own, or add paired DLC EQs and DNE compressors for a complete stereo preamp → EQ → compression chain. Preamp and EQ settings are adjusted independently for each channel.
Typical uses: Vocal and instrument tracking · Stereo microphone recording · Mono or stereo re-preamping · Complete stereo hardware chain
