Model details
A miniature microphone for choir and ensemble coverage where a small, unobtrusive microphone is useful. The original AT853a uses a separate power module; microphone placement and the supplied mounting arrangement should suit the performance area. Its cardioid coverage is useful for distributed ensemble pickup without placing a large stand in each sightline. The power module supplies the electrical interface and low-frequency filtering, so it must remain part of the signal chain whether powered by battery or phantom.
Typical uses: Choir pickup · Ensemble recording · Theatre sound
