Model details
The original AT4053a is a compact condenser for focused instrument and dialogue pickup. Its hypercardioid pattern helps control sound arriving from the sides; placement should account for pickup behind the microphone. The small body is useful when a microphone must fit near an acoustic instrument or just outside a video frame. Its 80 Hz high-pass filter addresses rumble, and the original a-series microphone requires the specified phantom supply rather than being treated as a newer AT4053b.
