The Rupert Neve Designs 5045 Primary Source Enhancer is a two-channel analog dynamics processor. It passes speech or singing above the selected threshold and reduces gain as the signal falls below it, helping control background pickup and feedback between phrases. Threshold, attenuation depth, and timing controls let the engineer match its response to the presenter or performer. Its transformer-coupled analog signal path achieves this through level control rather than frequency notching. It is useful for podium microphones, vocals, and other live sources where intelligibility and gain before feedback matter.
